南湖扬帆，党旗飘扬。十三名共产党人高擎墨笔，以笔为桨，聚浩荡而击中流；又以笔为弦，奏响七月的赞歌。为庆祝中国共产党成立一百周年，英语系教工党支部和本科生第二党支部精心筹备的“发挥外文专业优势，赓续精神血脉”习近平总书记系列重要讲话翻译活动于近期成功开展。学生党员们踊跃报名，积极参与，围绕青年这一主题在英语系教工党支部教师党员的指导下，带来了精彩的翻译作品，在实践中讲好中国故事，传播好中国声音。

本次翻译的六个选段，皆出自习近平总书记关于青年的系列讲话。

1.全国广大青年要深刻了解近代以来中国人民和中华民族不懈奋斗的光荣历史和伟大历程,坚定不移跟着中国共产党走,勇做走在时代前列的奋进者、开拓者、奉献者,让青春在为祖国、为人民、为民族的奉献中焕发出绚丽光彩!

Our country’s youth should fully understand the glorious and great history of the Chinese people’s tireless struggle since the advent of modern times. They should resolutely follow the Communist Party of China, have the courage to forge ahead, pioneer, and contribute while standing at the forefront of the times, and glow with magnificent glory through their contribution to their country, their people, and their nation.

2.青年是国家的未来，也是世界的未来。中国梦与世界梦息息相通，中华民族应该对人类社会作出更大贡献。新时代中国青年，要有家国情怀，也要有人类关怀，发扬中华文化崇尚的四海一家、天下为公精神，为实现中华民族伟大复兴而奋斗，为推动共建‘一带一路’、推动构建人类命运共同体而努力。

Young people are the future of the nation and the future of the world. The Chinese Dream is closely connected with the world’s dream. The Chinese nation should contribute more to the human society. Chinese youth of the new era should about the love for their home and country as well as mankind, carrying forward the traditions of seeing the world as one family and serving mankind altogether as advocated by Chinese culture. Chinese youth should strive for the realization of rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and push forward the joint building of the Belt and Road, and the building of a community with a shared future for humanity.

3.青年是整个社会力量中最积极、最有生气的力量，国家的希望在青年，民族的未来在青年。今天，新时代中国青年处在中华民族发展的最好时期，既面临着难得的建功立业的人生际遇，也面临着“天将降大任于斯人”的时代使命。新时代中国青年要继续发扬五四精神，以实现中华民族伟大复兴为己任，不辜负党的期望、人民期待、民族重托，不辜负我们这个伟大时代。

Young people make up the most positive and most vigorous force in the whole society. The country’s hope as well as the nation’s future depend on the young people. Today, young Chinese people live in the best time for China to develop, not only facing rare opportunities of achieving the great in their lives, but also encountering the time of the call that “the fate is about to grant the man major responsibilities”. Young Chinese people in this new era should continue to carry forward the legacy of the May 4th Movement and shoulder the responsibility of realizing the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, so that they will not let down the Party, will not disappoint their people, will not betray the trust of the nation, and will make the best out of this great time.

4.新时代中国青年要珍惜这个时代、担负时代使命，在担当中历练，在尽责中成长，让青春在新时代改革开放的广阔天地中绽放，让人生在实现中国梦的奋进追逐中展现出勇敢奔跑的英姿，努力成为德智体美劳全面发展的社会主义建设者和接班人！

Chinese youth in this new era should treasure this era, shoulder the mission of the time, gain experiences and grow in performing their duties, exhibit the spirit of youth in the reform and opening-up of the new era, let their lives show galloping bravery in pursuing and realizing the Chinese dream, and become socialist builders and successors who develop all-roundly in morality, intelligence, physique, aesthetics and labor.  

5.青年朋友们！一代人有一代人的长征，一代人有一代人的担当。建成社会主义现代化强国，实现中华民族伟大复兴，是一场接力跑。我们有决心为青年跑出一个好成绩，也期待现在的青年一代将跑出更好的成绩。衷心希望新时代中国青年积极拥抱新时代、奋进新时代，让青春在为祖国、为人民、为民族、为人类的奉献中焕发出更加绚丽的光彩。

My young friends! Each generation has its Long March, and each generation has its own mission. The construction of a strong modern socialist country and the realization of national rejuvenation are a relay race. We are confident to achieve a good score and we hope the young generation will run even faster. We strongly wish the Chinese youth in the new era will actively embrace the new era, bravely advance into the new era, and display brighter splendor when you serve the motherland, the people, the nation and mankind.

6.新时代中国青年要自觉树立和践行社会主义核心价值观，善于从中华民族传统美德中汲取道德滋养，从英雄人物和时代楷模的身上感受道德风范，从自身内省中提升道德修为，明大德、守公德、严私德，自觉抵制拜金主义、享乐主义、极端个人主义、历史虚无主义等错误思想，追求更有高度、更有境界、更有品位的人生，让清风正气、蓬勃朝气遍布全社会！

Chinese youth in the new era should voluntarily practice socialist core values, enrich themselves by learning from the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation, and by learning from heroes and of the times, and they must improve their moral cultivation from self-introspection. They must respect social ethics, abide by public morals and be strict with their private morals. They should consciously resist mistaken thoughts such as money worship, hedonism, extreme individualism and historical nihilism. They should pursue a life with a higher goal, a loftier level and a better taste.  They should work to spread the healthy atmosphere and youthful vigor to the whole society!

本科生第二党支部党员同志开展翻译工作

雨后复斜阳，关山阵阵苍。当代青年人正站在两个一百年的历史交汇点上，应当做到牢记使命，勇担重任，以吾人之青春，柔化地球之白首。青年党员更应充分发挥先锋模范作用，真正将习近平总书记系列重要讲话中对青年的期许落到实处，真正做到办实事，开新局。习近平总书记在中共中央政治局第三十次集体学习时强调，加强和改进国际传播工作，展示真实立体全面的中国，要全面提升国际传播效能，建强适应新时代国际传播需要的专门人才队伍。通过本次活动，本科生第二党支部党员充分发挥专业优势，主动做国际传播工作，在实践中提高国际传播能力。全体党员表示，在今后的学习中要继续发挥专业优势，提升专业本领，为赓续红色精神血脉贡献外文人的一份力量！
